Course: April , 2026, Trollhättan

HEAD & NECK ULTRASOUND

The overall aim of the course is to provide participants with basic techniques for ultrasound examination of the head and neck region, knowledge of potential clinical applications in daily practice, and to enable continued self-directed learning in the field. The course includes theoretical lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on training. During the practical sessions, participants will work in groups of three under supervision to examine healthy young volunteers. The focus will be on systematic examination techniques and anatomical landmarks for ultrasound assessment of the soft tissues of the neck. Participants will gain an understanding of ultrasound-guided characterization and evaluation of lymph nodes and major salivary glands, systematic classification of thyroid lesions, and the technique for ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration. The sonoanatomy course booklet is available for separate purchase here.
